Thanks everybody.
Never met him but it sounds as though you lost a mentor as well as a great friend. I am certain he will be with you from here on out on every trip you take. Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss. You are blessed to have shared his company, and he blessed to have had someone passionate as you to pass his knowledge on to.
So sorry to hear about Mr. Courtney. I met him a couple of years ago, as said before one fine gentleman. I bought all the poles I could from him. I own about six. If you like to singe pole tops you can't get find a better pole. He will be missed.
I knew Mr. Courtney as well. There were quite a few days where I would put grandpa in the truck and take a ride to Westlake. What a wealth of knowledge. I also own a few of his custom rods and Lord only knows how many jigs. I second the motion that he built the finest jigging rod I've ever held. He will surely be missed.
