    Default Attakapas Landing-Monday.....1/19/15


    Launched there..... started at the south end of Lake Verrett and hit all my "honey holes" going south to Belle River.....lots of muddy water around but I fished it along with some clear....biggest sac was 13".....catfish was 21"....all on shiners of course.....just enuf for 2 meals tomorrow......burned 9 gallons of gas in the boat.....water temp 50 to 53 deg......fished about 2 ft deep in 4 to 6 fow......going somewhere Wednesday.....

    I thought the catfish was full of eggs.....instead, it had eat 7 huge shad.......

    I remember gutting catfish with table scraps from crew boats or camps. Jambolia type stuff with rice. When the weather got icy they would be loaded with bait fish that I assumed were slowed down and easy for them to grab.
