My principal in high school decided after catching me skipping school on Fridays down at the river fishing that my name should be fishinfool! Even called me up on stage to get my diploma as fishinfool so it has stuck since 98

Have been a professional archer since 1989. I have won State Championships in 5 States, and rated in the top five archers in the world in 1991. I still shoot for Hoyt, just not near as dominant at the age of 61. Getting old sucks. Originally from Massachusetts, but a Cajun at heart.
Been called freebird everywhere I go. I don't even have to tell folks who haven't heard it. They eventually just start calling me freebird.

Having fished in Tenn & Ala & SC .... I learned that not everyone pronounced it 'croppie', like I'd heard it pronounced here in KY since I was a kid.
Being a bachelor, having no kids of my own, and never really thinking I'd ever be a good "dad" myself ... due in no small part from my experiences with the dkids of several different girlfriends ... I considered myself a poor candidate as a father.
The pronunciation of "crappee" and "pappy" combined to be a subtle reference to being a "crappy pappy" ... and a play on words, in a sing song pronunciation, as the answer to the "Who's your Daddy" taunt (aimed at the fish, rather than the fisherman). Out came CrappiePappy.
It must be a popular idea to be a Crappie's Pappy, in the "who's your daddy" sense ... seeing as how we have probably 5 or 6 members whose screen names are so close to mine in spelling or pronunciation, that I have to correct the spelling or put out disclaimers so as not to be confused as someone else or have someone else be confused as me
Even my initials "cp" are not safe from being confused ... as there are many members whose screen name has the same initials. But, when people refer to me as simply "Pappy" ... most pretty much know who's being referred to. I've had dozens of "nicknames" thrust upon me, over the years ... but, this one is the only one I chose for myself. I've carried it with pride for over 14yrs, and hope to continue to for many years to come.
