    Default Ouachita river 9/5

The day started and ended bad but the middle was all gravy. Decided to give my Bonne Idee fish a rest today and take 10watt for some river fishin this am. When we got to the end of our street I cut the corner too short and popped a trailer tire when the tire drop of the asphalt. Fought Mosquitos and ants to get that tire changed, I'm still itching as I type this. Got on the water about 7:30, started off throwing a small rattle trap catching a few small white bass, jay really enjoy reeling those in. Once that played out it was time to dip some tree tops. The trick today was to lower it straight down and just hold it still as you could, just let it marinate for a minute then they would bust it. Had to quit at 10am when jay threw up in the boat. Guess he's got the stomach bug that's goin round. The joy of having young kids. Ended up with about 20 fish but had to leave them bitting. Had it all to ourselves today, guess the ole timers are waiting on cooler weather.

West of Bastrop. It's called the hangout The road going in is pretty ruff, mixture of gravel and what was once ashpalt.

Those are some beautiful white perch. Thanks for sharing your report and info on the launch. We're gonna check it out next time we're at our place in Delhi. I hope your son feels better soon.

Jimmy, that happed to me once ,a long time back. I took a large hammer and beat it back. Filled it with air and it held. Put it back on the trailer. Had it for several years and even a tire change . Good luck.
