Default New shade for the boat.

I was in Sam's last night buying food for a catering job and found the perfect boat umbrella. Its an 8ft Sport Bella. I was worried it would get in the way of my 12ft rods. I gave it a try in the driveway this morning and it won't. This thing is a Cadillac compared to the old Bass Pro unit I had. A big plus is you would think the Bass Pro pedestal mount was made for it. You gonna love it, mine is on its 4th season, even keep it in the boat in the winter months too, keepps the rain off of us in a tourney if it gets rainy.

I have one like that too I bought about four years ago at Academy. I made the holder out of PVC parts that looks similar to yours. Helps a lot in the hot sun, a world of difference to me.

Those are side flaps for extra sun protection. My next project is to make a 12 volt extension cord for my tent fan for those non windy days.

I dropped off the picture to my local hardware store guy. He's going to get the pieces together for me. If fact, he said he was going to make one for himself as well. He went to Miller's Lake near Ville Platte last week and fished with a friend who has a go devil motor. That's what you need over there right now because of the thick lilly pads. they jigged in the lilly pads and caught 23 nice ones.

Here it is. This has a double extension that comes off the pedestal. The first one I put together had a single extension that clamped to the post. This one is more stable because it sits on the deck. Also easier to move around as the position of the boat changes without having to unclamp. It's tall I know. There are holes drilled every 6" where a bolt and wing nut is in position, that way I can adjust the height of the umbrella, only because I like fishing standing up. It could be cut down to a desired length.

The tees are 2" utilizing 1 1/2" bushings. Works for me.
