Not familiar with LOP. Wha'ts the nearest town? Congrats on the catch and thanks for the good report.
I've made three trips to LOP this week and have limited every time. Its been really good over there for about two weeks. Lots of ways to catch 'em there but I usually have someone fishing with me that is less experienced so I just side drift with a one ounce weight on the bottom and two hooks above. Drift sock or if its windy I drag a chain. Your line needs to be at about a 45 degrees (or more) angle when you dragging to keep your baits on the bottom. You can vertical fish the edges or catch 'em a lot of ways but this is a no brainier that has been working for the majority of old timers who are there for the annual freezer stocking. Look for around 28-30 foot flats where the bait fish are so thick that it looks like a second bottom. Really you will catch some almost anywhere in front of the dam right now. If you launch at the dam, Overlook, get there before 7 am if you don't want a long hike. Don

I think Jefferson is the closest town, I'm gonna give it a shot in the morning.
Hey Don,
Do you know if the Lakeside launch by the dam is open?
Thanks,
Ron

I went today and didn't do so well...only 3 I was using my capps and coleman double minnow rigs 1 crank off bottom. I just tried to keep my nose in the wind and troll very slow....I talked to several boats and they weren't doing very well either...not sure what I was doing wrong

I went yesterday and only got 11. Saturday that is. We gave up and came home about 11 am. The wind was ferocious and we had to fish near the dam and they just are not on that flat in big numbers at this time. Some of the guys that fish stumps and brush near the channel edge out on the main lake did a little better but over all the day sucked as far as numbers. I tried twice to fish the main lake but it was just too ruff to drift and keep the poles from hopping. However a bad day fishing is better far and a good day at work! I'm fishing out of a white, 21 foot Triton that says "Get the NET!" in big letters now so if you see me come say hi.
Thanks and ill be looking for ya
