awesome pictures Jimmy......that is one pretty place....congrats on the catch and thanks for the pics.....
Started off this morning at the rock pile off the Mississippi River north of Lake Providence. With the river falling I figured on mopping up some slabs this morning, wrong... Fished 2.5 hrs without a crappie to show. Counting me there were only 5 trucks there today and they were all moving too much to be doing any good. I cut my losses at 8:30 and decided I would try the Bonne idee on my way home, had to catch something to show i've been at least. Started there at 9:30 and fished till 12:30. Salvaged the day somewhat giving 9 fish a ride home. Lost a couple nice fish at the top of the water and threw back about 15 more. Caught all tight linning Bobby Garland blue thunder and a tuxedo shimmer 2 ft deep on lay downs and under docks. Decision time on what to do tomorrow ...

Thanks Bruce, if anyone is going to the rock pile you better take your rubber boots, got my feet wet today and would have had to back out further i hadn't swung the trailer around to drop it off the side of the ramp

Nice pics. Thanks for posting
We are truly blessed to have so many beautiful places to fish here in Louisiana. If it just wasn't so dang hot! Nice catch and thanks for the pics
20 Watt, We have to get together and Educate me. Living in Florida over 30 years, After coming back home , finding places to launch a boat in North La has been a labor. Boat launches are missing from maps and Google Earth is not much better. Until Recently Poverty Point wasn't there. Every Water hole I can see you cant see any launching places. Lake St. Joseph No Visible Launches . Suggestions !!!!!!
Nice catch Jimmy the rock pile can be a tricky place
Fish, here's a link to the LDWF that lists public boat launches by parish.

Fish, there is a pay launch at St.Joseph on the outside bend of the lake near the Winter quarters state historic site on hwy 608. We used to have a large pamphlet that had all of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission boat ramps for the state of Arkansas, sure wish Louisiana could do something similar....
Nice way to salvage the day. Which part of the Bonne Idee were you fishing? The pictures look very much like a place on the Bonne Idee that I used to fish when I lived in Swartz. Don't worry about me running over there to fish your hole. It is much too far for me to pull my boat now that I live on Lake Claiborne. Plus my boat is hanging in the straps of my boathouse. Thanks for the pictures though. They brought back some sweet memories of time past.
