    Default Henderson-Wednesday-7/24.....Caught a Giant.....

Choupique that is......sucker was at least 28" long.....took me 10 minutes to tire it down then it did not fit in my net all the way....kept hoping it would just throw the hook.....that measuring stick is 22" long.....must have weighed at least 13#.......sure did get the adrenalin flowing for a while.....had to stop and sip on a cool barqs root beer after that.....

fished 6 to 12....started in north Bigeaux,,,,absolutely nothing happening there.....went further north to Bayou Fordoche and fished around the first canal on the left.....got one in that area.....going back south stopped at the old Railroad piling.....nope, not there either.....now, south to the Amoco canal area.....not there either.....I had one in the box at 9 and was ready to head home......hated to dump all those shiners and Randy's dogs are too far away.....so I gave it one last shot in Pelba......fished 18" deep in 3 to 5 FOW.....got 3 more in 15 minutes....big one was 13 1/2"....fishing shade and grass....then it ended except for the choupique and 3 gar......kept 4 sacs....

got back to my truck and had a note from our CDC member "Fireman"....sorry I missed you....

Nice catch Bruce. Whatever type of Bream that is in the first picture is nice, why wasn't in your sink as well? You should post that top crappie in the sink in the Golden Shiner award post, nice catch. I would have cut the line on that eel looking fish before it was in the boat, then again, a very nice picture of it. Nice note from the Fireman, we've got good friends here. Thanks for post my friend.

Randy, that was a goggle eye. He don't eat them. That was an aggressive little bass also! I do not like those prehistoric feesh. They got some sharp teeth.

That was a big choupique. I had one that size break my jig pole last year. Glad you got him in with no harm.
