I'm for it, I'll be there. Would love to know that kind of information. Thanks for your thoughts and post.
For you basin lovers, the Atchafalaya will start dropping late next week and baring some unforeseen rain, should continue to drop for at least three to four weeks. The river at Butte la Rose will peak under 12ft. Both the Mississippi and Ohio rivers are falling. The Mississippi at Cairo is expected to fall 14ft. over the next five days. It should be tremendous fishing as long as the river keeps dropping. You just have to find the spot. I am thinking about giving a free seminar on reading and interpreting the river gauges. I have been studying the basin for over 50 years and the Cajuns have been so helpful, I just want to give some back. Maybe I can get my daughter, who is a marine biologist, to throw in her two cents. It would be in the Lafayette area. Please let me know your thoughts.

Awesome!!! I spend a good amount of time checking the Miss and Missouri River gauges and trying to understand how best to interpret the gauges... Would love to hear from someone with your experience!

Even though it doesn't help me I think that's a great idea
That would be awesome, the basin is the only place I fish.
I'm ready, willing and I hope able to attend. Let us know when and where.
