    Yeah they all have their ups and downs.....like braid I love it and use it 90% of the time but some people can't stand it.

    You gotta seat any knot in FC properly, and to do that, it must be wetted first. Apparently some couyons out there don't know the value of spit.

    That it was (funny) and one of you two owe me a keyboard.

    I've haven't seen the need to change from mono. Bite's off real easy. I use 6 or 8 lbs test and never caught a sac bigger than 4#.I Have landed some 25# blue cats.

    I pulled it off my real the first time I used it also but I like it for leaders. I tie about 7' leader in clear water.

    PMan, I would want you on my side in a fight!! I like my 8# mono. I too, bite it off. As far as breakoff's do what I do. Don't fish close to stuff.You do not catch as many, which is great because you don't have to clean as many. ( I'm just trying to convince myself, since I haven't been catching many lately)

    I just hope everyone realizes I'm smilling when I type these replies.

    I have gotten pretty comfortable using 2 to 3 spinning rigs. One will have 4lb mono, and the others 6. Never tried 8.

    I have done that in the past but recently with weedless hooks sometimes I find myself "going for the gold"......J.B. Salter says "use weedless hooks and get in the middle of the treetop...it will increase your catch by 80%"....I value what "the master" says.....after a trip with JR to the Basin I found out he believes that also....the secret is out now.....

    I've tried it all....6lb mono is what I like....hi vis mostly....If I lived where the water was real clear,I might give FC a shot.
