Default Long time, no posts. . .

Well, it's been a few moons since I had a post here, and even though I live in Texas, I usually fish in Louisiana. However, this time, I got a rare trip in last Thursday locally at Pat Mayse Lake, just a few miles north of here. My great friend and local guide, Allen Ballard, needed more business cards and we always trade out. Caught 19 before the cold front moved in and the rain started. The wind was horrible. It was really hard to stay on the spot. Caught them in 30 feet of water, about a foot off the bottom.

    Hello Dru,
Boy it's been a while. I wish you could have joined us at D'Arbonne or Toledo Bend, we all had a great time even if I didn't catch any fish. As usual the food was good and the members were the greatest. I'm glad you got to catch a few. It had been a dry spell for me too until recently. It sure feel good to have them tugging on the end of your line.

ps: I thought only salmon used fish ladders.

Hello Dru, it's good to hear from some of you Texas boys. Looks like they are still running deep like they were last month at the Toledo Bend gathering. I figure they will be shallow soon. Nice catch. Thanks for posting. I was wondering the same about the ladder .

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!

Hey, Dru. Nice catch. Looks like climbing out the boat to find a hole full of fish works better than my Hummingbird. I don't think I'll try it until you do it again. Take care.
