Went fishing for 3-4 hrs before work today. Threw back 2 bream and a couple of 13 1/2" bass. Didn't even see a crappie...and nobody had one either.
I was about to head home early as there were a ton of boats all going "somewhere" back and forth at full speed. I saw my Zoom worm take off sideways...and when I pulled on it the fish headed into the floating weeds. It pulled hard taking line off the drag as I reeled. It was kind of slow like a good sized catfish, not sharp and quick like a bass. I thought what the heck...a catfish taking my Zoom worm? As I horsed it out of the weeds it took off like a shot toward the back of the boat...and into the air! It was a very BIG bass!!! The whole thing got into the air...shook the hook out...and was gone! My "comments" echoed down the bayou.
That was the largest bass I have hooked into in a long time. I'm off the next two days...and I know where it lives!!!
good story GB.....and thats what keeps us going back.....glad to see you back on the water....
The "King" is coming
