Default Kansas boy needs information on Lake D'Arbonne, we are coming down Feb 8th 2012

Hello all, Rocky Watson from South Central KS here , me and a couple friend from Missouri are going to Lake D'Arbonne Louisiana, in February, and will be at a cabin on the southern edge of the lake, we would love for our Crappie.com fishing friends that know about this lake to chime in to help us have a great trip, any tips on where to fish and what colors or lures or anything would be great!

Hope you guys all have a great time! I fish it one weekend a year when we have a LA gathering over there. I love that lake, just a little far for me to drive on a regular basis. Cabins are fantastic. Regarding the lake, I've never been in Feb, so I'll leave that to some of the guys that live nearby and fish it regularly. But, if you're not in the boat lane, you better be trolling! Beautiful lake, but LOTS of stumps! Not every square foot, but enough you'll find em when you don't want to if your not a little cautious. Good luck out there!

Well in February you best bet would be fishing in the channels. Now there are channels all over this lake and depending on where, the depth ranges any where from 15' to 18', but where I would be fishing that time of the year would be in the 25' to 35' deep. That's where you will find most of the boats.

You should contact The Honey Hole tacke shop here in West Monroe, LA. They sell large maps off D'Arbonne Lake, has all the ramps, boat runs, channels, reefs, etc. They only cost 7 or 8 dollars, but will help keep yall safe. Maybe they could mail you one before your trip, hope this helps you guys.
