Thank yall for the great comments they are greatly appreciated. I am working on a hunting video now we will see how this turns out.
That is one great video!!! I have a couple questions if I can. What is the dead/dying vegetation on top? Is it hyacinths? How deep is the water you are fishing in, it looks pretty shallow. Are you set up on a ditch/creek in a flat or is it all bout same depth? I have never fished like that before, but it has me intrigued and looks fun as all get out. Thanks for any info.

WHO DAT TALKIN BOUT BEAT DEM SAINTS?
the depth is 11 foot the fish sit at 9 foot that is salvania or giant salvania. it floats on the surface and moves with the wind. how ever wen it gets stuck and jam packed like that in the trees the fish get under it. they dont get under every wheres though. there is tricks to learn what to look for. little frogs on top means fish below like bass love to sit under frogs so do white perch. also you have grass shrimp in this. also since this stuff moves that means when sun light can hit bottom cerrtian types of grass hold different fish. if you find good gree coon tail under this and you have frogs or grass shrimp on the top you have fish below or soon will thats what sucks you can fish the whole lake all year and never find them if you dont keep trying the same spots. over years you learn there moving pattern and that is the key. the only way to really kill that stuff is for it to freeze hard for a time period.during the summer months it can double every 24 to 48 hours which is why it can cover a lake in no time. i love the stuff because you see what kind of fish you can get from under it. alot of people dont fish it because it is not easy to fish. if you go in there and tear it up with your motor them fish will leave quickly. so you have to use a pole to pull yourself up on it and try not to tearit up.
Gene, That sure looked familiar, you sure you didn't sneak over to Bistineau?
Enjoyed
"Hello, My name is Bill, and I'm a tackleholic"
I thought that clip was a joke until I seen the 2nd fish get caught. I aint never seen anybody catching fish like that before. I see if I ever moved away from open water lakes I'd have ALOT to learn. That's one heck of a mess of fish too. Congrats.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Hey SLJ,
I carry a extension pole with a hook on the end. I use it to open up hole in the cover. If the fish scatter they will come back in a hour or two. Works good in the heat of the summer too.
A lot of bass tournaments have been won punching grass mats.
