It's great and if you fish in a buddies boat it can go along with you.
Does anyone use a handheld gps for marking their hotspots and tops? How does this work for you? I am completely out of the know on these things, considering getting one and attempting to learn.

I mark all of my bamboo buckets with mine, plus any other deep water brush tops that I may stumble across. Works really great. I mounted a bracket to hold mine while driving down the lake. It will put me right back on the tops that I have marked. Mine is just an entry level Garmin. I think I paid about $100.00 for it. There are more expensive ones, but it is all I need for the way I fish. Good luck with your research.
A friend of mine got one that cost about $450.00. He still hasn't learned how to use it. I tried to help him, but it was just too complicated. I used mine the first day, right out of the box. Very simple.

I totally agree with using the Garmin E-Trex for all of the above reasons, it is all you need and easy to use-I have seen them at Academy for $79.00- call me at 3184878881 if you need help-Chris
It sounds like I will be going with the entry level garmin, simple is always better! Thanks for the info guys!

Sorry to hear about you sending your H2O to the deep six. I love mine and have Maps Create 7 installed on it. It has every lake, bayou, canal and ditch on it. It sure has helped me do some exploration without worry. If I ever upgrade it will be to Delorme.

I have the DeLorme PN-20,bought it for deer hunting about a year ago.I like it,especially in the basin. It came with software to download topo of your area.I would either buy a Garmin or DeLorme.

I wish I could have gotten one of the H20 before they quit selling them.. I waited about 2 weeks too long to get one.. Haven't played with any, do they work like the gps on the fishfinders. I had a gragh type one on my old fishfinder and didn't like it, I want to be able to see where I'm at and the area not just a bunch of lines.lol. H
I finally made it.. Hunting and fishing whenever I want to now..
i have a garmin Emap can i use it for my fishing spots will trade for easy to use garmin
