    Default Grand Bayou at night.

At the spur of the moment I decided to go to Grand Bayou and fish until whenever I had enough. I loaded up a few things and put the rod and reels in the boat along with the jigging poles. Then I took them out along with the minnow bucket. I did not have a clue as to how they would do at night on jigs but decided to give it a try . Arrived just before dark and started catching small ones. When dark arrived, nothing! I kept looking and around 7:30 I found some shad with larger fish hanging around the outer edges. 20-22FT water, fishing 18ft deep. Between 8-11o'clock I caught these fish at 11 o'clock they shut down . Seems as though as long as there was a south east breeze they bit but then it got dead calm and they stopped. Had two hit at the same time, I was in a quandry over that one but I managed. I could not judge the sizes very good in the dark but these small ones will scale out and eat just fine.

Hey BamaFan, Those small whole fryers are the best fish in that pile. LOL Most everyone around here had rather have them like that than fillets, including myself. Good looking mess of fish you got there!

    Hey Tommy,

Good to see you back on the boards! Hopefully I will run into you on Grand Bayou or one of the get-togethers comming up. Was concerned you might have gone Ba$$man on us! lol naw but sure glad to see your postin'. Crappie.com would loose a wealth of crappie wisdom if you left for green carp!
