A wonderful evening around 80, no wind, with a full moon, so I grabbed my B&M crappie 12' rod with some 1/32 oz home tied marabou jigs and headed to a local lake.
I have a Scadden Outlaw Escape pontoon and a portable fish finder.

I had a great day with an old friend I haven’t seen for about 7 years. Now he’s enjoying retirement like me but, doing mostly salt water fishing. So, I talked him into going bream fishing with me this morning.
We spent the morning hitting all the spots where they’ve been

Took the grand kids out for about an hour on Saturday. Overall it was a little slow, but we did manage one 13+ white from the bank at Smithville Lake. They were more interested in playing with the minnows until we hooked into this one.

This was the toughest decision we've had to make in a long, long time. I'm talking about picking a winner in the Crappie.com/Good Deed "Story" contest. Some of the stories brought laughter and some brought tears. They were awesome, and it made me feel like Crappie.com members truly have made positive impacts on many peoples lives.
I want to thank each and every one of you that submitted a story. I consider you all winners. And as such, I will be sending each of you that submitted an actual entry a little prize. More about that later.
Now for the winner of the “Eight Driftmaster Crappie Stalkers”.
As I promised you Mike. I went out with my friend Ernie today and caught around 100 crappie, 6 or 7 LMB, some brim, and 5 Gar fish. We got rained on a few times and the wind blew around 10mph, but it was a good morning to be on the water. All

We fished all weekend long just south of town in 80 to 120 feet of water. We worked near the commercial fishing nets both inside and out. We had some good luck targeting fish in the upper 15 feet of water using the small orange dodger and flies

I took Will (my son) and one of his buddies(Hunter) to pull cranks today on barnett. We didnt catch but about 8-10 fish including the dinks we threw back, but these young'uns had a blast.
Join me for a day on the water as I take my Native Watercraft Ultimate 14.5 kayak out for some great fishing action. Smallmouth bass, northern pike, and crappies are all willing to hit my bait as I make my way through one of Michigan's beautiful

With the winds blowing out of the east and south east Saturday evening, and knowing that the waters would be stained brown from all the recent rains, I really didn’t expect much as I put my fishing gear in my kayak and headed out for a short scouting paddle to try and could located a few crappies or bluegills. I had 3 specific locations in mind that have produced decent panfish shortly after ice out on a regular basis over the past 8

After a 17 hour drive, arriving back in Beaverton at 4:30am Tuesday from our quick four day trip to see our sons promotion to Sergeant at the Marine Corps Air Station in North Carolina, I was ready for a lot of sleep and to just chill the day away. But apparently there were other plans for me that day as I woke after

It’s apparent that Mother Nature seems to be toying with anglers this year. Torrential thundershowers have blanketed most of the South filling rivers and reservoirs with muddy water while a late snow storm has driven water temperatures below normal. The effects are challenging even for seasoned crappie fishing guides like Todd Huckabee.
“Where I am fishing crappie are moving from the spawning areas

I caught my biggest Red Ear to date this weekend. 11.5 inches long and fat as heck. Barely fit in a BnM Crappie Saver it was so fat. It would not come out of the Crappie Saver once it was in it, had to press it down a bit to get it out undamaged. And undamaged is what I wanted. I released it back into the river so it would put some of them monster genes back into the pool!

Left the house at 330 this morning to head to Sardis for a little population control. Drove threw a downpour until about Southaven and man was I glad to see it stop as we finally got south of it.
