He can be found doing some really good things, really.
Here he is paying respect to our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day weekend. These are some pictures his wife took of him "sticking graves" as he calls it. Placing flags at grave sites of those that served. You may notice that in the following

No wonder we can't find crappie in here. 47 inches, 20+ pounds, released to eat some more crappie. The brown bass were hot too, we caught 57, had 2 citation sm and 1 for the musky. Everything went back to the riva.
The "CrappiePro Crappie Pose". I'm sure someone else along the way has done this same way of holding fish up for pictures, but I'm giving the credit to CrappiePro. This is an absolutely fantastic way to present fish for Crappie pictures. Yes it's cheating. Yes the fish look much bigger than they are. But so what, the pictures look great. And isn't that what it's all about. If you want to document the size of the fish for science, take a picture on a tape measure. But if you just want great looking

Abbey and Kallee waiting for the first ever Illinois Crappie Camp to begin.
Let the Illinois Crappie Camp Picture Show begin:
The fishing at least for us was not great, but we did catch fish. We only fished one day, and it turns out we just did not quite figure them out. Seems the fish were moving. We found out later they were either caught right inside the willows that were flooded, or long lining deeper water.

As an avid crappie fisherman I sometimes find myself wanting to try new methods and angles towards catching my limit of crappie at various times of the year, and believe me the late Spring is my favorite time of year to crappie

Carol and I got a jump on the rest of the people heading up to lakes Mitchell and Cadillac for the 2013 MICDC spring SlabFest. We decided to leave after work on Wed. to have a day or two to ourselves before the others arrived. We stretched the 2-1/2 hour drive out a bit by taking a "back road" route and stopping for dinner in Hesperia. We made it to Mitchell State Park in Cadillac with just enough time to set camp before dark. We were really fortunate to find the only pull-through

I just wanted to get some pictures out quick. I'm still thawing out from the extreme cold and snow fall. Regrettably, for Michigan Crappie Camp this was par for the course. At least it has been the last couple years. Last year we had a blow out with 40-50 mile an hour winds. The year before we had frost. And this year was the blizzard.
Here are the pics.
Well the Friday Night Liars club gathering started off good, but it was a little cold. Good thing we had a big camp fire blazing.

Ever since I caught the 17"er a couple of weeks ago my little spot has been really producing some good fish and good numbers. I've managed to land a 16-1/4", and a 15-1/4"

Decided to spend this weekend fishing at Quantico MCB. Saturday we hit Smith Lake. Water was clear and 68. Not a crappie to be found. Ended up with a few ,nice sun fish and a few small bass. Daughter was having fun holding the fish.

While pacing in and out of the house between rain storms, I wondered if my buddy Luke was going to cancel on our crappie fishing outing. If the weather radar was correct, the hard rain which had been falling all night would be moving east around noon. My kayak and fishing gear had been loaded for a few hours when Luke called and informed me that he was on his

The DR spawn must be winding down, because they were in deep water yesterday. I spent the day
working areas from the deepest water in to the 10' level & found a steady bite. Doubles & triples were rare,
but when the boat

Chucky & I did a 3day tour of Green River Lake. Scouting trip for Chucky, 1st actual fishing on a lake trip since retirement for me. Didn't get in a rush, didn't fish hard, and just enjoyed
