    Default T-ville Report

Not much to report! Water was stained, temps ranged from 64.5 around
Van-Br to 68.5 around the dam. Picked up 7 small crappies in 20' of water fishing close to the bottom w/ minnows. Threw jigs to downed trees and around stumps. If I could count all the bass as crappies I would have had boat load. Talked to two other guys fishing for crappies and neither one was having any luck.

Wichita: Hope you had better luck than me!!! I can see you now in your comfortable chair reeling one after another!

With them pulling the lake down so hard, I'm not surprised that the Crappie were hugging bottom. With just having 20+ft of water pulled from over top of them, then having the lake go back up a few feet, then pulled hard again .... them poor fish are plumb skeered to death that they're gonna end up in a mud puddle, or high & dry :p

Once the lake stabilizes, and we get a period of little to no rain ... they'll be back up in the blowdowns. Of course, we will have to wait until after this weekend, for the water to clear back up, too ... you know how muddied up it can get, after a weekend of rippers & jerkers (skiers/joy riders)

Hey, on the bright side ... you did find some blowdowns that haven't been flooded away :D

Thanks for the discouraging report Downwind...lol! Hopefully they will stop pulling the lake and things will turn around. I appreciate the info and will let everyone know how well we do (or don't do) this weekend.

    Take care,

The lake is within half a foot of summer pool today. (Friday)
They've stopped drawing it down too.
I'm going today at noon and hope it picks up.
    I'll leave a report later.
So far, this has been the worst spring fishing I can remember.

Downwind...I got a late start waiting for my Dad but I sure don't have a great report. Caught one crappie throwing jigs and yes they were hugging the bottom. Went to my bluegill hole and they disappeared also. Caught about 6...My old man somehow hooked a big blue cat on 4lb test. We got to see it for a fraction of a second then wham she was gone. Should have seen the old man's face! Caught 4 small channels. Lake was muddy near Chowning and temps were lower 70's. I couldn't believe how dead the lake was. Guess all the boaters are waiting till tonight to start coming in. Gonna hit the farm pond this weekend while the crowd hits the lake. p.s. Downwind them are some nice armrests when you're eating hotdogs!

Wichita-As mentioned if it wasn't for the bass it would have been a long day with no excitement. Lake was pretty dead, and most of the boaters I did see were tucked up in the coves. No matter---It was a great day to be on the lake. Warm temps and no wind to speak of. Glad you and your dad caught a few! Spend lots of time with him!!!!!!

Yep Dad retires in a couple of years and we plan on hittin em' hard. I lost my regular partner this year to heart failure and Dad has stepped up and goes with me quite often. My 6 yr old daughter steps in as well when she's not in school. I cherish every second with them.

Not much to report. Fished a few hours on Saturday and Sunday morning and only caught some small bluegill, rockbass, bass, one channel cat and a drum. The nephews had a good time though and they enjoyed "going fast" on the lake. Since the kids had a good time I guess it was a success. Didn't really do any crappie fishing so can't say how that was. Hope others have some better reports on T-ville.

    Take care,

Went again yesterday (Sunday) and it was the same-nothing!
I hit about a dozen of my favotite spots, pulling minnows on jigs
through heavy cover in 15 to 25 ft of water, didn't get a single bite.
I've never seen it this bad.
I packed up and went to the river and caught some Sauger.
At least I got some fish this spring, Taylorsville is over for me.
