    The latest I've heard is that the river is looking pretty good; murkey but not muddy. Is 6 feet over summer pool and dropping fast. Trimmer308 who reports on kentuckyangling.com and who fishes the north fork a lot says that part of the river is looking very good and thinks the high water has renewed the river. I know Poppin' Rock is open but as of this morning (June 30) Bangor was not available. Since they're dropping the lake about 8 inches a day and Bangor should be open by this weekend. Think I'll wait until after the 4th weekend to hit the river. If you go, good luck and I know what you mean about that prop killing thing! Friend of mine lost 2 of 3 blades in that area one day! Fortunately we had a good full charge on the trolling motor battery to get home on!

    KY Lake - Crappie and the occasional Bass *** Crappie unless something hits me to catch some bass or when I simple have enough crappie in the freezer. Go there at three to four trips per year but plan on making it eight to ten times this year.

    Rough River - Crappie *** Stayed away last year because of low water conditions but like the Northfork area.

    Nolin Lake - Crappie *** Learned to crappie fish as a kid on this lake and plan to hit it a lot this year.

    Taylorsville - Crappie and occasional Bass *** Fish this when I get off work early or if I am to busy to get to the other lakes.

    Weiss Lake, AL - Crappie *** Have fished there for over 15 years now and go at least two to three times. Love KY Lake, but Weiss is the Crappie Capital.

    Lake Erie - Small Mouth *** Annual trip where you can look like a pro catching bass.

    Lake Cumberland - Stripers *** A once or twice a year trip when I have a desire to catch a monster.
    "You should have been here yesterday!!!

    I like the smaller lakes around this area:

    Beaver Lake in Anderson Co. for bluegills, shellcrackers, and bass;
    Willisburg Lake for Bass (have caught a few nice crappies in there too!);
    Cedar Creek for Bass and someday Crappie:D.

    My Dad lives on Kentucky Lake, Jonathon Creek and I consider that area as close to Heaven on Earth as it gets.

    Always wanted to try Reelfoot but haven't yet.

    Kentucky River between Lock & Dams 10 & 11.

    Largemouth, Smallmouth & Kentucky Bass, White Bass & Hybrid Stripers, Flathead & Channel Cats, Crappie (when I can find them), and Bream (fly rod & ultralight, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Creek Perch, none too small; mostly for bait for flatheads).

    Don't have the enthusiasm to chase after them Muskies, but they are here.

    I mainly fish:

    Nolin, Rough River, Lake Malone, and KY/Barkley lakes
    I also do a lot of fishing at Cannelton and Newburgh dams for sauger in the winter.

    I fish for what ever fish happens to be biting at the time.

    KY/Barkley has to be my favorite place to fish besides shark fishing on a sandy beach in the gulf.

    Fish mainly Kentucky Lake with an occasional trip over to Barkley. I tend to stay in the north end from Johnathan Creek to the dam. I'm a recovering bass adict and tournament angler. I gave that up to pursue a more pure form of fishing. Went back to when fishing was fun. Sold my bass boat bought a aluminum camo triton and here I am.

    Crappie from feb to may

    bluegill and redear may to june

    catfish may to july

    So when it gets really hot in the summer and the bite slows you can find me on the golf course!
