We caught 9-10 but had to work most of the day to get them.

Water temps are getting warm enough that something HAS to happen soon.

I went to the Spillway Sunday to see if anything was hitting. Nothing going on there but every now and then someone would land a striper (small). We then went on around to some of the creeks and channels to see if we could do any good. No luck, everyone we talked to said it was tough. Fished the Barren River here in BG and landed a few small gills and a small LM Bass. but current was strong and everything was in hiding. I still have the rest of the week to do some good, maybe if the weather cooperates.

Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids

went yesterday afternoon. wind had the lake whipped to a froth. I was fsihing right when the small cold front came through. The wind started out of the south and during the day swung hard out of the north west. Managed one keeper crappie on a minnow, lost one right at the boat on a jig, and caught a small largemouth on a minnow.

Water seemed warm. I don't have temp on my fish finder. Water was cloudy on mainlake and main creeks. Water was clearer with a green cast back farther back in creeks. Visibility 2 foot on main lake and main creeks. Visibilty 2.5 to 3 foot farther back in creeks to downright clear where they just enter the lake.

Went Saturday. Lake was high. That may be an understatement. I think it was ten or more feet above summer pool. Water clarity was different everywhere I went. Midway up peter creek it was muddy, vis 1 foot. All the way to the flat bridge, yes the flat bridge I went all the way no problems, it was a touch clearer, vis 1.5 to 2 foot. On bluff by the golf course there was a vein of very very muddy water, like track a deer across it muddy. I caught one white bass up by the peter creek flat bridge. Three bites total all day. Was too windy for me to fish my normal spots.

I put in a the state park. Water was all the way up to where the concrete of the ramp stops and the pavement of the road begins. The turn around on the ramp was completly under water. Was too windy for me to fish my normal spots.

Unfortunatley I've not heard anything promising about Barren. The Corp will be pulling it hard over the next couple of weeks. That will make for tough fishing. I haven't heard of the bass guys doing much either.

Wonder how much money the area economy will lose over the conditions this spring.

It's got to hurt these small towns. I know alot of people who have cancelled trips and stayed home on day trips on many lakes becouse of the high water and weather as well as gas prices. It's not very often you hear guys telling people to cancel trips becouse of poor conditions and reports. Even on Kentucky.
