I went Monday and it was fine, there was a lot of driftwood in the
lot but not enough to be a problem, the ramp was in good shape.
the water was 45 degrees, I fished about 3 hrs and didn't get a bite.
...are they open? I heard there is a ton of debris in the parking lot at Settler's Trace and the ramp was closed as of a couple of days ago. Anyone know about this? Was wanting to fish Saturday morn. but don't want to make the drive for nothing.
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope '08 is prosperous to all.
Take care,

I doubt it would be a worthwhile trip. With the lake having been up so high, and being pulled hard, and being so cold (45deg according to JCC) ... I'd think the Crappie would be hugging bottom out deep, and probably not doing much feeding.Originally Posted by GREENFISH
I have caught them in Dec/Jan/Feb ... fishing from the bank, over a blowdown, casting jigs but, that was years ago - I went during a warm trend - the lake level was stable for many weeks - the blowdown was on a deep bank (but, I caught them fairly close to the bank) ... unfortunately, that blowdown is no longer there.
On another note : Where ya work ?? I noticed you posted that you were a Pharmacist, on the Occupation thread. I'm a Pharmacy Technician, at UK Med Center ... going on my 40th year there :p

JC, thanks for the info. Wish you had a better fishing report though...lol.
CP, I work at Walgreens in Hillview (South Louisville). I saw you post on the occupation board also but you beat me to the comment.
I think you're right about the fishing CP, the fish will be deep and on bottom. I went to Simpsons Lake (nelson county) the Thursday after Christmas and caught a lot small crappie. Most were right on bottom 25 to 30 feet deep, water temp 46. I have done the same thing at T-ville this time of year but it is a light bite.
Maybe when it warms up several of us can get together at T-ville and do a little fishing.

Sounds like a plan Keep that in mind, and when the "Ville" gets right ... we'll try and get a hookup or two going !!Originally Posted by GREENFISH

One of these days I need to get up to T-ville. I've lived in Georgetown for two years, but can't seem to get away from Guist Creek and Williamstown.
Greenfish,
I live in the Ashbrooke Gardens subdivision over by Penn Run Golf Course.
It's a small world. Nice to see another crappie fisherman around here.
I'm looking forward to getting back out to Tville soon. Not this weekend Burr cold.
Working on our new boat right now getting ready for spring. Depth finders, rod holders, etc.
Hope to see ya out on the water sometime.

Hey Geoman15, sorry about the late reply but its been a busy weekend. I assume the area you're talking about is right near Hillview, sounds familiar. I actually live in Bardstown but it's only about a 30 min drive to work. You're right about it being to cold to fish this weekend. I have to work next weekend or otherwise would be on the lake if the weather is slightly warmer. Hope to see ya'll on the water. Good luck with the boat setup.
Fishin Ky, you should try T-ville, it's not a bad lake. Hopefully several of us can meet at the lake sometime and possibly fish together. I think we could all learn something and have a good time.
Take care,
Greenfish
