I've not fished Rough River Lake for a few years, now, but I'd venture to say that the usual color patterns will still work. Green/char - blue/char - blk/char - pink/char - purple/char - solid white - solid chartreuse - solid pink .... have always been good color choices.Originally Posted by rrcrappie

Bass will hit the same colors as Crappie ... color choice, by the fish, can change from day to day ... hour to hour ... water color in different areas of the lake ... depth fish are suspended ... due to changing weather conditions ... etc. So, it's always a good idea to have a good selection of light, dark, and contrasting colors for your baits. Both species are sight feeders, first and foremost, so you want a bait that they can see ... given the prevailing water/weather conditions. That, IMHO ... is the reason why Chartreuse is such a good color, whether alone or in combination with other colors.
