    Default Cedar

Went to Cedar Friday for a couple of hours just to get the boat wet(been a couple months). Randy was out of minnows so it was jigs only. Looked for suspended fish out in open water and just could not finding any. Water stained beyond the tracks and 39 degrees. Water was clear by the dam and 42. Now when I went to the left side of the of the spillway I found fish 49' deep in 50' of water. Thinking this were ether cats or maybe bass or even grass carp, so i put on a 3/4oz slab spoon just to see if i could hang into something. After About 5 minutes I hooked in to something had no fight so I was thinking stick, no it was 11" crappie in 49' of water, 5 minutes later another 11' crappie .Well that's a first for me catching crappie that deep, Cedar keeps rewriting everything I thought I new about crappie. These fish were not stacked like crappie but were spread out horizontal like bass, crazy.

Talked to a guy at the ramp today. He caught several all at 40’. Said he’d been there since first light.

East wind and they didn’t act very interested.
