Default Kentucky Lake Versus Green River Lake

Anybody on here fish both of these lakes last year? I hear Kentucky Lake is recovering from the invasive species and last year looked better for crappie than the years before. Is it worth going to KL or should I wait a few years?

    Thanks for your input!

Kentucky Lake is doing great now! I have several buddies catching limits every outing! However I haven't been since April to Ky lake and me and a buddy fished 3hrs and had 36 crappie from 11" to 14" We never really kept track of our catch but knew we was close and quit or we woulda had a dbl limit! We just relax and have a good time! We was spiderigging in 12 fow 5 to 8ft deep on the north end of KY Lake! I have never been to Green maybe Crappypappy can chime in! But i hear lots of shorts at Green like 4 to 1 ratio so you would have a blast at either but if using minnows u would have to have a lot lol.......

Thanks Grizzly2k1! That sounds promising. We'll have minnows and everything else to throw at them. I've never spiderigged myself but it looks like fun.

    Appreciate the feedback! Tight lines!

KY lake should provide the larger fish. Not sure if it can match the numbers of fish in Green River. Green River is absoulutey loaded with fish. There are some good ones there but for the most part 9 inch fish is pretty much what can be expected. Either fishery is good. Kentucky Lake might be a little more difficult than green. Contact TimsCatchingcrappie for a reasonable good quality trip on Green River. He wont break the bank and he will put you on fish. He knows the lake, has lodging just minutes from the water. A good honest man. You wont be dissapointed. Highly reccomennded. I take at least 2 or 3 trips a year with him just to enjoy the commeradre. I give the fish I catch away. Fishing with a good friend during the day is what is important to me. If we catch fish, fine. If not, there is tomorrow.
