Thread: Battery setup

I have 102s on the bow and console with livescope on the front. I have one battery for them and cranking. I would like to have two batteries but do not have room for another one in the compartment.

A 106 draws 2.8 to 3A
A 93 draws 1 to 1.5A
Live Scope draws 1.6 to 4.5A

So you’ll be using 2.8+1+1.6 = 5.4A as a minimum when everything is on. Could use as much as 3+1.5+4.5=9A.

Multiply current by the number of hours you want to be able to fish to get expected AH requirement. For example, at the minimum 5.4A say you want to fish for 8 hours. That’s 43.2AH, so you’d probably look at a 50AH battery

I’d want to measure actual use current while setup like you fish rather than guessing. The easy way is to pop the fuse out and put the probes of a multimeter set to DC current across the contacts and run the unit. Add up your real current and do the hour calculation and add a little cushion to be sure.

I’d look at lithium marine batteries. Prices at the low end are in the AGM range. If you get a battery and for some reason it doesn’t do the job, you can always get another to add in parallel.

They have some on amazon 2 pack for 399 12v 100ah I'm going to order 4 of those for my boat! The charger is another 150 to 200 but the batteries has a 10yr warranty with them.
