Licensing boat trailers will be next. Paying $21 for a vehicle you drive almost daily is one thing paying $50 for a boat most use less than once a month on average is a little steep.

I don't know ... I paid $81 for a 16' ProCraft 1999 model (w/90hp motor 1999 model). I paid $84 for my 2006 Tundra (prior to it getting totaled by a tree). Not sure what my 2010 Tundra will cost me next year.

Less than a dollar a day to have the privilege to drive your own bought & payed for vehicle. Not bad at all.

How about this one? I just paid over $3K in tax, registration, and license on a boat I've never seen and won't get for at least another week. I went ahead and got my trailer licensed so should I find myself on the road to or thru a state that requires it, I'm legal.

My new Excel Bay Pro 230 Elite is awaiting its' Suzuki 250SS that didn't arrive in time for me to get it before the Excel plant in Union City,TN shut down for the holidays. My CPA said it would be best for taxes to get the new boat paid for and registered in this same calendar year that I sold the Storm Cat. The certificates of origin for the boat and trailer were done. Since the engine isn't registered in KY, I had all necessary paperwork to get it done.

My garage looks like a marine dealership with all the boxes of new gear (and some old) that go on the new boat. Rickie and I await!

16' - 26' here in Ga. is $70 for 3 year registration. Over 26' and that price doubles.
