Default Good day with Pico’s on Barren

Sometimes when your work meeting gets canceled it can be a good thing. First time I’ve gotten to get out and fish in about a month. Didn’t get on the water til about 930 and caught my 20 by 230. The purple splatter back Pico was the hot crank today. Others also caught a few as long as there was some purple on them. Sure felt good to get back out there and have some success. Hope to have many more days like this as the temps continue to cool down. I can see a fish fry in the very near future.

Nice. I've thought about giving barren a try this fall but no clue where to start.

I caught these around the fork of Skaggs creek and Beaver creek fishing the big flats off the side of the creek channel. Put in at Beaver Creek boat ramp and start looking for bait fish and you’ll find the crappie. Be prepared for a lot of gar. Barren has plenty of those too.

Thanks. My buddy & me may try it down there a time or two to see how we do & hopefully catch a couple good messes.
