    Hmmm ...

    1: beware of snakes
    2: use their boats
3: wear sunscreen & sunblock clothing
4: post this in the Tenn forum for "local perspectives"

Reelfoot is tough first time out. Get a guide or ask Billy Blakely where to fish. Easy to get lost.

Might want to check this out. Pay attention to what these guys say (especially the one that says when you jiggle the end of your rod, thinking your jig is just dancing in place ... but, it might be jumping almost a foot !!)

If you got an aluminum boat and can idle around you’ll have no issues. There are marked boat trails, just ask one of the guys on the dock to point them out. PVC trails all over. June usually isn’t as windy but man it gets hot out there, you can dip trees, pads or cast to beds. Catfish are usually on fire, try casting a crawler to the base of the cypress or try one of the ditches. Bluegill will be scattered around shorelines and trees. But it is a beautiful lake and you owe it to yourself to see it.
***PS the snakes are def present this time of year, but I’ve spent a lot of time on that lake and as a rule of thumb “don’t bother them they won’t bother you” has worked just fine for me. The mosquitos are 100x worse in my opinio.
