I use silicone spray, works pretty good without attracting dirt build-up.
MY motor is very hard to pull up is there anything I can put on the shaft to make it easier? Would any kind of lubricant work?

If it is not locking in right away when you let it down and having trouble lifting it up the front side of the base might be lower than the back.

I have the same problem with mine. Something I tried that has helped some is I went to an auto parts store and got this handle this that is made for jeeps and rail buggy’s. It’s got Velcro stamps and a nylon handle with rubber over it. I just wrapped that around the top of the shaft, below the head, and put all transducer wire under it and got it as snug as I could. It doesn’t hurt the motor and it gives me something to tug on as I pull it up.
I had originally planned on doing some type of a handle like from a weed eater, the kind that clamps on either side of the shaft and tightens down, but could never seem to get it the way I liked it.
Hope this helps

I wipe mine down with Armour All. Keeps it slick & easy to lift up.
