    Default Kentucky Lake Trip

Headed to Kentucky lake last week of March. I have not been since 2018. Was going every year and that year fishing took a dive. That was my longest trip there too. Water was high and weather was weird as my last fishing day it was 80 in mid April the. Next morning we were shoveling snow off the dock
We are staying at Jonathan creek. I was wondering what best plastic crappie lures are best and maybe bass plastics if anyone has info. My fiend is starting. A plastic company and I plan on bringing sample bags to pass out and want the best colors

I am set up for trolling crank baits long lining plastics and spider rigging too

When i first started going there the hot bait was a green twister with a red head I don’t know if that is a thing anymore

The fishing on KY and Barkley is going to explode this year and the next several. 3 great spawns in a row. Bait colors will vary with how muddy the water is and sunlight. I typically start out dark then move to lighter colors. Longlining jigs will be your best bet but don't fish too deep. Some good crappie will be surprisingly shallow.

Been since 2017 / 2018, but used to catch a bunch of crappie that time of year and lots of bass.

Crappie green pumpkin w/ chart. tail under normal water color was always my 1st choice and my dad preferred junebug w/ chart. tail. Muddy water black/pink or pink/chart

Bass - Green pumpkin always works, watermelon candy, red bug, and plum

    Good luck
