Thread: Spring Fling @ Green 2023

Our annual Spring Fling @ Green event will take place on Saturday April 22nd at the Holmes Bend Picnic Shelter.

This is just a FYI, so that members planning on attending can mark that date down & make arrangements to attend.

Those who wish to be there and may require lodging or camping facilities ... Holmes Bend Marina has cabins & suites, and there are several campsites for tent or RV camping just up the road from the (COE) launch ramp at Holmes Bend Marina. There is a $5 Launch Fee at this ramp, and the machine is set up for Debit/Credit Cards only (no cash). The ramp is COE property & does not belong to or maintained by Holmes Bend Marina.
(note: The Getaway Cabin is already reserved)

I will be posting the Volunteer List, for those wanting to sign up to cook, clean fish, bring food or preparation items, etc.

Those that have previously attended already know the drill, but for anyone that has yet to attend this event ... here's a rundown on what takes place :

Sat Apr 22nd ... fishing begins at daylight - fishing ends at 1PM CST - fish should be brought to the fish cleaning station on the marina by that time - fish cleaning volunteers will clean the fish brought in - cook volunteers will be cooking as soon as the cleaned fish are brought in sufficient amounts to begin the process - the meal will be self serve to all attendees - after the meal we will have prize packs & a ticket draw for Sponsors products that have been solicited. As we've done before, prize packs (goodie bags) will be given out to all attendees. The ticket draw for the main prizes will be for Crappie.com members only, and there will be a sign-up sheet for you to be eligible for those tickets. You will be required to write your real name + your Crappie.com screen ID name.

Holmes Bend Marina, The COE, Crappie.com, and the Spring Fling Administrators are not responsible for any accidents, injury, damages, or other incidents. You are responsible for your own behavior & any consequences befalling you. So, everyone be safe and let's continue to have a good time at this event.

I will monitor the weather conditions leading up to the event, and reserve the right to call it off in the event of severe/dangerous weather conditions. I will make that determination by Wednesday April 19th. (NOTE: reservation fees are not refundable at Holmes Bend Marina & Resort, so I will make every effort to not cancel the event except in the face of severe/dangerous weather conditions)

Well, you know I will be there with door prizes. If anybody wants to look at some bait just let me know and I will bring some with me...
