Like you said downsize and fish slow.
Hello all1
I was wonder what if any small finesse baits you guys use in the winter? I have never used any and I think that may be a mistake on my part. I fish all winter and sometimes struggle to get bit when the temps get low. Everything I hear and read says to down size. What do you guys do?
For black crappie I will down size a little but I never use anything smaller than mini rods and mini deuces wild 1.75". White crappie I use hot rods and devil minners year around mostly and they are 2.5". All of them are great with livescope.

I use a Margarita Upper Cut jig body from Crappie Monster. It has a great profile and movement regardless of how slow you fish it. It is 1.75 inches.

I don’t downsize in winter on our lakes. The shad are the biggest they will be all year and normally can get away with big baits. The time to downsize is when they are feeding on freshly hatched fry.
