Default "What I did this Summer" (in response to the lack of fishing reports)

Mostly I've stayed home & out of the heat/humidity & thunderstorms. I did manage a couple of trips a couple months ago, down on Green with "slabeye", which I reported on. Did a night Bass fishing trip with "cjpar3" down at Herrington a month ago & we ended up with 3 LMB. Recently all I've managed to do is take a 3hr night Bass fishing trip down to Herrington with "cjpar3". Started sprinkling as soon as we launched, then turned into a "frog choker" downpour for about 20mins. Luckily we found a private dock with an open slip, just in time to get out of the hard rain period. Once the rain was over, we fished for a couple of hours ... I caught a couple of 2+lb LMB and "cjpar3" lost one around that size at the boat before I could get a net under it.

Yesterday I went Dove hunting with "onready" & 3 other friends, down at Salvisa, KY. and may get to go again, tomorrow, but that's on a "wait & see" what the weather's going to be deal.

I haven't been fishing out of my own boat since the Spring Fling ... but, hopefully with cooler weather moving in soon, I'll get it back in the water and maybe get a little Crappie slime in the livewell.

That's all I got to report, for now.

Spent 8 hours on a tractor bush-hogging today. At least I got to look out over the river all day. LOL Saw several boats with a couple of people set up for what looked like catfishing. I had several successful Bluecat drift fishing trips on the Ohio river in July with a few small flatheads thrown in too. I look forward to Fall fishing.

I am trying to build a boat barn before winter. Hopefully I will get out at the Shindig!

My summer report would go the other way. I have fished at least twice a week since mid feb. most at tville but some at green and a few trips to ky lake. Best fish caught this year ( crappie ) have been taylorsville. Really looking forward to , hopefully, a normal fall pattern which is actually starting now still hoping to do one more all nighter before chilly temps set in.

Let’s get together and go fishing sometime. Need to gather some of your wise wisdom!

    Work has gone crazy!
Not enough hours in the day.
Cut firewood, baled hay, loaded out hay trailers, vacation coming up, constant mowing.
I have fished some tournaments about once a month.
    Come on fall!

I spent most all of my weekends on Kentucky Lake on the non-fishing boat doing a lot of swimming at the beach in Smith Bay with the kids, as well as pulling a tube around a bit. A good bit of golf and pool swimming at the country club, backyard bonfires, Outlaw Hours on the radio, and good old fashioned redneck fun in Marshall County Ky.

Also did some fishing over the summer, not as much as usual because July was just way to dang hot, but did manage to do some vertical spoon fishing on schools of white bass and yellow bass.....even went yesterday evening for a couple of hours for some blue cats in 40 ft of water and brought home five nice ones for dinner.

My summer report goes as follows.

Havnt crappie fished since the spring fling do to my boat being dead. Havnt pulled the trigger on a replacement boat yet. Maybe over the winter so I have time to rig it before spring.
My summer has consisted of some depression. Fiancée left me while we were on vacation at the beach. Took some time to get over that. Didn’t leave the house much. Spent a lot of time at the pay lakes chasing catfish and trying to get rich quick. Didn’t really work too well, but caught some good fish including my new pb catfish. 38.8 pounds.
Now with fall approaching I’ve got several pickleball tournaments coming up. 3 in the next month. Also been riding the motorcycle a lot. Got a Tennessee trip coming up in a couple weeks for my birthday. Will be catching trout and smallmouth hopefully. And just like that, deer season is here and it’s time to start climbing trees and slinging arrows and bullets.
Whew. Guess I was busier than I thought lol

I haven't had my boat out this year yet! Went thru a divorce I kept the boat lost the camper but oh well life goes on! We have shared custody of the kids and get along pretty good so that's a plus for us! I'm hoping to get to go to KY Lake next month and fish with Terry Pool AKA "Wiskers" Fish a few days and relax and get to see some of my old friends! I won't get to make the fall Shindig I have a cruise with the kids! Had it scheduled before he date was set for the Shindig! I hate that I have to miss it they have been fun over the years! But I'm gonna try to fish Cave run several time this fall and hopefully catch some decent fish!
