Haven't been there at all this year, but the lake is 1ft over Summer Pool as of this morning .... so there may be a little bit of trash floating around, and the water may be a little more stained than normal, but it shouldn't be in too bad a shape. (just going on memory)

Maybe Sourmash will see this thread & chime in, if he went as planned.

He did go as planned. Exactly as Pappy said it. I fished under green lights last night and did pretty well after midnight. Had 2 quick hitter storms but a great evening overall. I fished all minners under slip floats. 8-9 feet in 22 ft water.

Went Tuesday and it was a typical TVille day. Caught 6 shorts to one legal fish. Water color was good and some floating debris.

Better than any day at the office!

I can't figure it out, every year people catch a lot of "SHORT" fish and always say next year the fishing should be great because all those "short" fish will grow up. I need to know when is NEXT year?

Yea I don’t like the term “ short “ fish. If it’s a little short for one lake it may be a keeper for another. There’s only 2 of us here to eat fish so I won’t keep anything under 11 inches. And then only keep 7-8 fish for dinner. I don’t keep a supply in the freezer that way if we want fish I need to go get some. Works for me. But I agree with you where do the almost keepers go. I usually don’t measure fish but this year there have been many fish just under 10 so I figure about December those should hit that magic number but I really don’t see many people with a limit of 10 inch fish any time of year.

I throw back the tanks and keep the 10” I will have to agree that the fishing wasn’t as good this year as it has been in the past. Anyone who was riding that lake during the COVID spring of 2020 would most likely agree that it was nothing short of fantastic. It was bound to come back to earth at some point, but for the guys on here who fish it like I do, it would be nice for some other central Ky lake to produce a nice run of good fishing and spread out the competition.

Been fishing Taylorsville Lake since it opened, and I can truthfully say that it's producing much better Crappie than it did in the first decade of its existence.
I wondered what the situation would be in the years following the size limit change, that I was not so happy with ... and here we are. But, upon reflection, it's kind of the same as it was before the change. Back then I could catch 50 fish in a day and have 40 or more of them measure in the 8+ inch category. Along comes the size change & though my total daily numbers caught is less, the ratio is almost the same (if not a little less - except maybe during the Spawning season).

My definition of short is a fish under 10” at Tville.

I agree 100% I don’t keep anything I don’t intend to soak in hot oil. It’s never my intention to go catch a limit every time I hit the water.

I play by the rules. If I have a 9 3/4 inch fish bleeding bad. I pitch him back in the lake and my famous last words is the buzzard’s have to eat too.
