    Exclamation Green trip 5/4/22

Met up with Slabeye to do some Livescope jig Flippin' ....

Weather - breezy & quite chilly
    Water temps - 65deg
Water condition - very clear for Green (where we were)
Water Level - few inches above Summer Pool
Baits I used - Slabanator Devil Minners (various colors), Panfish Assassin Crappie Dapper (Albino Shad)

Caught over 2 limits of keepers & I don't know how many dinks (from 4" to 8.9"). We turned back all but a dozen or so of the keepers to finish doing their thing ... whatever the heck THAT is !! All our fish came from 15-20fow around trees/brush. The majority of them were females still with "ready to go" eggs.
Unless they're planning on spawning in 15fow or more, I'm not real sure exactly what they're waiting on

The midday morning started out really slow, seeing lots of fish but not many takers. As the day progressed they got more and more interested in biting our jigs, rather than just following them or just checking them out and going back to the cover. We did get a few that "thumped" the jig, but a lot of the time we'd just be lifting the rod and one would be on there.

    As promised, I took pics

    5gallon bucket with Crappie & a bonus kitty ...

Quite chilly wasn't the word for it. Wish I had my coveralls. But on the other hand if I was a little smarter I would have dug down in the box and got my old rain coat sooner...lol But had a good time, we will have to do it again.

I was there also! Yep that wind had a bite !

We caught several/majority of the fish where 8 1/2 or 83/4. Brought home 13 keepers and a catfish. If 8” was the limit we’d been done in 2 hours.

Fish where scattered near the bottom in 15-20’ of water.
