Slid in for a little after work action and it did not disappoint. Found an old pack of Midwest Tackle Black/Chartreuse tube jigs I bought @ Grizzly Jig
From god knows when and gave it the old college try.
Water temps were in the high 60’s, fish are literally everywhere and there were wasn’t much wind, can’t ask for a better day. I caught the majority of my fish in 15 feet of water, targeting submerged lay downs.
When one of those old cedar trees breaks and falls over into the water and catches itself against another tree (or two or three) creating a “crappie condo”, these can be lights out and are worth giving the spot some time and waiting on the fish to bite. If the Tree cannot be seen without livescope or other electronics even better. The low hanging fruit gets pummeled at Tville unfortunately, so I tend to hunt for fish that are off the beaten path if possible. A Less pressured fish is a happier fish, and a Happy fish will crush my offerings, and that’s what gets us up @4:30am on our off days. Never the Less, it was a another good day albeit too short. Easily caught my limit today and yours if I wanted it , but only kept a handful, freezer is already getting full. You boys be safe and enjoy the weather, this is our time to shine.
