    Default Livescope

I have received great info regarding my other post and sure appreciate it. My next question regards livescope which I recently purchased and had it installed by bass pro. I tried to use it and could not pick up my jig. I sometimes could see it in the bottom left corner but fleeting. I tried to gather info increasing color gain etc but did not work. I started researching re the mount which is on the starboard side of the trolling motor housing. Bass pro mounted the transducer horizontal to the trolling motor head. I looked at the diagram and it appears to me it should be angled up to get the forward view? Need some help with this. 2nd question I was reading about compass orientation would this have a bearing on my problem as I did not orientated my compasd. Third question how effective is livescope without spotlock. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds to me like you have the LS transducer on the right side of the trolling motor shaft .... if so, it's on the wrong side & looking backwards

I have my LS tdx level with the TM head and it works fine that way for forward view. I "think" I read somewhere that tilting the tdx up one click can help remove the "phantom tree" & "dead zone" ... but, don't quote me on that. I haven't tried it, so

Livescope is only as "effective" as you are at keeping the TM pointing towards the spot where you're casting to (if tdx is attached to TM shaft). Boat control is a major factor in this case. With "spotlock" capability, you'll need to have your LS tdx on a separate pole.

You also have to understand that the Livescope sonar ping is a narrow band of about 20deg, but something as small as a jig has to be in or near the center of that band before you can see it clearly.

Post a picture of your transducer with trolling motor in view.

If you are wanting to see your jig fall you need to click the transducer up 2 clicks and if you hit right in the beam you will be able to see the bubbles where your jig hits the water...

Would this be the same even if mounted on a separate pole?

Mine is mounted on the motor housing not the shaft if that makes a difference?

Shouldn't matter, for forward view it should be like no 3 but on the motor. Mine is mounted on the motor housing.

Went to Green today & flipped mine up one click, just to see what diff it made. It did clear out the ghost tree & dead spot, but seemed like I lost a lot of lower depth images ... and I was never in more than 14fow. Didn't care for the effect, so I clicked it back up.

My tdx is about 1ft above the motor head.

The detail to note is that there are 3 arrays (flat surfaces where the piezoes reside) in the LVS32 ...

The center array (regardless of forward mode or down mode) (and regardless of port mount or starboard mount) must be approximately 90° to the direction of the Sonar pulse ...
