That would be a new one on me. I think the hook limit may be for trot lines.

I am from Ohio and going to Kentucky Lake in Ky waters. I have a couple of questions I would like answers hopefully from a guide or tournament fishing member or resource officer. I read the law as one hook per line except umbrella rig which u can have 5. This applies to spider rigging correct? I've been told different and have also been told Kentucky Lake has different laws governing such. Question 2 are size limits the same through out Kentucky. We got suprised a couple of years ago down in Paris landing Tenn. We just finished fishing Reelfoot with no size limit and was surprised when stopped for routine check and was informed that Ky. Lake has a size limit in Tenn. Appreciate your answers. Thanks

You can find all your answers at Kyfw.com. I know of no pole or hook limits if your angling for fish. May be different for snagging and trout lines. Ky lake has a 10 inch minimum size on crappie if keeping fish. I think that extends into tenn also.

No laws on number of rods or hooks on those lines. KY Lake has a 10" size limit & a 20/person/day Creel Limit for Crappie.
Different lakes in KY have different size limits & creel limits. But, like BCO suggests ... the Fishing & Boating Guide is your best friend. You can look it up online (via his link) or stop in most any Walmart and pick one up at the counter in the "fishing" dept. (where you can also get your licenses).
Also of note : The Possession Limit is defined as "two times the daily creel limit for all fish that have a creel limit" ... but excludes "processed" fish. (* processed meaning cleaned).

Umbrella rig is not a spider rig.......umbrella rig (aka Alabama Rig) is one commonly used for bass and stripers.
Check the KY rule book from KDFWR, it will tell you everything you need to know. Regulations can vary from lake to lake within KY, so be sure you look up the special regulations for the lake you intend to fish. Stop at a bait shop and grab a printed booklet if you can, as it usually always comes in handy if you happen to catch a bonus fish you don't normally catch and need to know the rules for it.
