Anybody got a report on Green River Lake? Water level seems to be reasonable but what are the crappie doing?

I was there this past Monday. Water temp was 51 early and 54 by afternoon. I fished mostly around Fisher Bend and found Crappie near channel. Moved to bridge area after lunch. Fish were scattered to say the least. Morning down about 10 ft and in afternoon I caught one while I was setting up with a hook down about 2 ft with a dead minnow. Caught 16 keepers and my first 14 in for this year. Probably threw back 50 plus shorts. Ran out of minnows (50) and used plastics but only caught one keeper on plastic. I am going down Monday for 3-4 days and will try to report each day. Fish should start roaming and feeding soon but depends on temps. Good luck

Thanks, Crazie! We’re heading for Green River Lake tomorrow for 3-4 days fishing. We’ll be fishing out of Emerald Isle Marina. The weather looks like it’s going to be a bit cooler than usual. Just wondering if we should be looking for crappie deeper than usual? We’re most of the keepers you caught down about 10 feet?
Quailtail thanked you for this post
I am going Monday for 3-4 days. I was at other end of the lake. Most were around 9- 10 ft deep until sun came out then for about 2 hours they were about 4 ft deep then went back down. I think with this wind and cold weather they will go down deeper for a day or two. I don’t know how you fish but straight across from the marina along the wall there is a lot of brush. I think they will be holding tight to brush. There is a lot of good places up towards Robinson Creek. I will be fishing that area on Tuesday morning. Let me know if I can help in anyway.
