What kind of transducer? SI, DI, 360 or Live?
So I’m getting a helix 7 mega mega si di and I want it on the bow of my javelin. My question is should I mount transducer to trolling motor or should I build a pole mount. What advise can you guys give me

In side imaging if the transducer is turned with the trollingmotor the image will be distorted until it runs straight again

Ok so if I go thru the trouble of building a pole mount, when I turn pole will I run into the same problem.
i was really hoping to get some pros and cons here among u experienced guys. I will be using to spider rig, vertices jig . Cast. Any help is appreciated
While turning the TM does indeed smear the SI image ... it is very feasible to stop the forward travel and back up over an interesting target that may have smeared in the SI image ...(SI works in boat travel reverse also - just remember the SI image plotting doesn’t change from top to bottom) ...
Then after passing by that interesting target in reverse - stop rearward travel and continue forward travel trying a 3rd time to get a discernible SI image ...
Try SI on the TM - if it becomes too aggravating - then explore pole mount options ...

For what you are doing Danny I’d mount it to the transom. I can write a book on here why but shoot me a text and we will go over the finer points.

Have ran one on the trolling motor for 3 years and absolutely love it ! Despite all the negativity about not being able to pick up stuff with Si unless your moving 3-4 mph after some time with it you can pick up stuff when you are barely moving !
only issue is that you have to remember that it’s their when you get into shallow water. Lol
