Hate that !
Just FYI: Had a friend get his catalytic converter cut out of his exhaust yesterday at White Beach ramp on Kentucky Lake (west side between Blood River and Kenlake State Park). Between hours of 1pm and 5pm. This ramp is not used by many people, although it isn't way out in the sticks either. Plus it was broad daylight and there was more than 1 rig in the ramp.
Be careful launching your boat at a ramp that is remote or even one not getting much use. I know there has been a rash of stolen cat converters lately. Hoping this message might prevent a future theft.

That's awful.

My late Dad dealt in all sorts of scrap metals as well as Convertors. He took a pic of the ID of everybody who he bought from. If a prospective seller balked at that, Dad moved on.
Police could put a serious crimp on such by going after the buyers. Same goes for those who show up at a scrapyard with grave markers. The end buyer should be held responsible and be able to ID those he buys from. Our local recycle center requires an ID any time scrap is brought in.

I understand the horrible feeling when this happens while trying to enjoy some peaceful time on the water !
had mine stolen back in August! Still have to pray earnestly to keep the bitterness at bay for those that do this and for those that buy ! as Doug said I blame the buyers just as much ! 5 hours of fishing that day only cost me $600 bucks and they prolly made 30 if that much .
Too blessed to be stressed!
They were sawing them off in the parking lot at the plant. Probably 1000 cars there. Someone always coming and going yet they still saw them off in there.

Man that angers me! I know what type of punishment I’d like to see them get. It would stop that stuff real quick.

I know of already 2 dealerships that have had their entire lot vandalized. Any buyer would have to know the guy didn't just come across that many converters. They do pay a lot for them. The end game are the precious metal they contain.
