    Default Reelfoot lake family trip

Daughter and wife have spoken up that they want to tag along on my next fishing adventure.

Where should I stay at while at Reelfoot? Any guides you recommend?

Reelfoot got hammered by the monster Tornado on Dec 10. Not sure what’s left. I did read one of the lodges was completely destroyed.

Cypress Point and a lot of houses and trailers on Lake Dr. to Samburg were destroyed. There were several rental houses and lodges in that area. Blue Bank is fine and Boyette’s to Tiptonville wasn’t in the path.

spent the last 20 years staying at Cypress but as said completely wiped out. Blue Bank is right next store and they are still in business. I sayed there about20 years ago was just ok. Had frend stay there and they were not impressd said it was pricey and cabins were not what they expected. There is another place on the other side of the lake called Grays Camp . I have never seen it however the reviews seemed ok. We are going to try Kentucky Lake this year. Another option if you are still interested in Reelfoot is to stay in Union City at the hotels. They have a new Holiday in express which was nice and it is about 20 minutes from the lake. There is a public ramp at the park by BlueBannk. Blue Bank has a guide service down there I think his name is Blake Guide service.I have never used him soI cannot render an opinion. Good Luck I will miss Cypress Point have a lot of good memories. Happy New Year

I always stayed at cypress point when I went sad to hear about that place. Never stayed at Blue Bank but for what I seen of that place lil over priced for me for what you get. If it was me I would go to Kentucky Lake better fishing in my opinion. I have never been to Reelfoot when I didn't loose at least one day of fishing because of the wind. It get dangerous with the wind & stumps.

I would recommend Southshore, I’ve stayed there several times and it’s a clean place. Both the motel and the cabins. There is also a restaurant right in front of the lodging, which has good food. They were not damaged by the tornado, but since they were one of the few that weren’t I’m sure they are booked out pretty good.
