What is a good spoon to catch crappie on. There was a guy on here that was using one at Cumberland with good success. Would like to try it on Cedar creek. Thanks!
Well ether this is a hush hush topic or there not really a good spoon for crappie. So I will go from there.
If I were trying Cedar with spoons .... I'd go to Walmart or Cabela's or even Ollie's and look for the cheapest ones I could find that look similar to a Hopkins Spoon (with or without tail feathers). Probably something in the 1/8oz-1/4oz size (or smaller if they come in a variety pack). WHY, you may ask ?? Simply because you're gonna lose a few, even if you have a "lure knocker"
You may also want to try some blade baits using the same drop/lift technique that spoons are used for ... something like the Cotton Cordell Gay Blade.
Hopefully you're going to be using these under Livescope, so you can keep them out of the trees, trash, and fishing lines entangled in them. Luck2ya, my friend ... and I hope to see some reports & pics following your excursions.
