    Default Taylorsville

Gonna be on the water at daylight in the morning.
I will give report be it good or bad.
Plan on covering a lot of water. Never a problem catching fish but but hope I don’t have to catch 19 before a keeper like last trip.

Was there this morning. In at 5:30 fished 6 hrs. Caught many fish took 11 before the first keeper. Ended up with 13 keepers between 10.5 and 12. 40 plus FOW suspended at 8.5 to 10 feet. Tight lined jigs. Better fish came tipping with minner. Fished area at the bend both sides of lake. Slabanator jigs in monkeyshine. Just FYI.

Sourmash .... can you further explain your "tight lined jigs" reference ?? Sorry, but to me "tight line" fishing is sitting still and fishing straight down ... but others use the same term to mean Spider Rigging or even Long Line Trolling.

And thanks much for the report, and congrats on the catch !!

My method is enough lead to fish straight down while trolling at whatever speed works. I was at .8 mph. One quarter oz lead. Never stop moving unless snagged. I use pinch on sinkers and run my jig at the bottom of the line. I fish lines off both sides of boat I have fished that bend pretty hard for a month now and it’s getting better every trip. Tipping the jig with minners really did the trick and the smaller the minner the better. That monkeyshine is the only color I fish at taylorsville but I’m sure anything that resembles baby fish will get it done.

Back from Taylorsville and not much to report.
Got on water at about 6:15 and only 2 boat trailers/trucks in parking lot.
Half a pound of minnows and ready to clean up.
Went to one of my usual areas on main lake and started on some submersed timber that always holds fish. Livescope showed plenty of fish holding tight. Made several drops holding jig right above and on their nose. Nothing!! Switched colors a couple times. Still nothing!!
Then took plastic off and hooked minnow thru the lips. Pink 1/8 oz round jig head.
Dropped right on the brush and it made its way thru limbs.
    Thump!!!
12 foot ACCCRAPPIESTIX with 10 lb P-line went to work.
I continued this method in several areas with similar type cover. Don’t know why I only caught a couple off each pile and then they quit.
I did back off a few piles and pitched the jig underhand allowing it to swing to them from behind. It worked a couple times also.
Wind came up and I got tired of single pole fishing.
Loaded 4-14 footers with double minnow rigs and started pushing.
    Nothing but Hybrids and Catfish.
Crappie seemed to be in 25-30 FOW and around 8-12 ft deep.
Probably caught 25-30 but only a couple keepers. I didn’t keep any sandwiches today.
I will add the Hybrids we’re acting like Piranhas today. Chasing baitfish and had the water boiling!!!
Water temp was 80-82 or so.
Left around 1:00 and was getting pretty hot. Gave my extra minnows to a young couple in a Jon boat.
Lot of pleasure boats and jet skis putting in at that time.
Be glad when the weather cools off for sure.
    Chuck

36 today with ONLY 2 keepers.
6 or so vertical fishing with LS.
The remainder pushing double minnow rigs with 4 poles.
Released the keepers in the water instead of grease!!
Hot as Hades so I’m glad I got a bite.
My buddy and his partner only caught 3 short fish and 1 catfish all day.
Water temp was about 78 this morning and got to almost 81 when I came off at 2 pm.

Did get a photo of this.
    Pretty cool!!!
