Nice haul for sure!
smart move on waiting until after Monday to return!
Got out Thursday evening for a mess of fish before the big crowds of Memorial Day weekend. Still quite a bit of boat traffic- wake boats, jet skis, and pontoons- but it was fishable. Seen a few people bass fishing, several catfishing from the bank. Not many crappie fishing.
Water temps 81-85 and clear. Brushpiles on flats in 15-20 fow best. Top of the brush 10-15’ deep, fish suspended right above it. With the warm water, they wouldn’t hit a jig on a vertical presentation. Had to be cast and drag, reaction bite. Pitch past the brush and swim it right back through em. Chartreuse & pepper crappie magnet and crystal bobby garland were best two baits for me.
I’ll probably wait til’ after Memorial Day before I go back to the lake.
Nice haul for sure!

Where'd ya go ??
I'm seriously thinking about heading to Green or maybe even Cave Run for some "daytime" fishing (after the holidays, of course). Think I'll leave Taylorsville alone for now, unless I fish in the "river end"

Got those at Nolin Pappy. Looks like Barren is 1 ft above summer pool today. By the time I’m ready to go back, should be at summer pool. Not sure which one I’ll hit. Bluegill should be on fire everywhere. So many choices... crappie, bluegill, catfish.
