Sounds like you had a good day. Thanks for the post. It's been a little quiet around here.
For those who are died in the wool, vertical jigglers in the summer heat, choose to crack my knuckles for pulling jigs in skinny waters, hear me out.
Met my buddy at Browns Ford, 6:00am. Game plan was to pull jigs over stumps on channel edges. Used I pilot to plot a coarse to stay in a depth of water, say 14’, next pass move in 2’, and continue till we find fish. After finding just the right area, plus cooperative fish, did better than we’d done in awhile. Believe it or not, best fishing was 8-10’ of water with fish at 4-6’. My buddy pulled double 1/24th, while I pulled double 1/16th, he caught most of the fish. We wound up with 11 keepers, Best was 13-1/2”, and with many that will keep next year. Distant thunder had us putting the boat on the trailer by noon. Pretty exciting after the dry spell we’d been having.

No additional weight was used other than the jigs. It did seem to help when I pilot changed direction and speed and make the jigs rise and fall. As far as speed, we would change up from.7 to 1 mph which also gives the fish a different look. There are as many charts on jig depth vs speed as there are opinions on how to fish. Here’s one I found:
