Green light does penetrate the water at greater depths than white light ... so there is that factor to consider.

I use both, but the green works better
It depends on water color. Green river i use a green light. At cland i use a floating white light. For me green light at cland is way to bright for how i fish. If i had a dimmer switch on a floating white light i would use it at cland.
