    Default KY lake redear

Can anyone help me with a spot or two, to try and catch some redear? I’ve got one okay spot on Barkley, but I’m lost on Kentucky. I’m wanting to take my wife and dad out and put them on some fish. If you want to PM me with help that would be great. I’m just looking for a decent day of fishing, and I don’t know where to try.

I was thinking of trying the Smith bay, Duncan bay, Sugar bay area, but I would be fishing blind there. I just hoped that with 3 large bays right in the same area it would give me some area to fish.

Cant come down this year because of the CV but we have had luck over the years in Cypress bay, way in the back of Panther Bay and back by gravel launch in Bucanhan . Go slow if water is clear lots of times you can see the beds in shallow areas, close to any brushy areas, and deadfalls in shallow water. They should be turning on now which is when I was supposed to be there. Good luck Piney is another area that works some years and others not. Alot of it is timing. They are the most fun panfish to catch that i know of and the best eating.

Thank you so much! I’ll start checking these areas out on the map. My main goal is to show my Dad and Wife a good time fishing, as they have never seen these huge redear like I have. I remember how astounded I was the first time I caught one.
