I got co-workers who live there that are getting on them already. Not a lot of details but seen the pics.

Getting the itch for some gills, anyone got a report of the action on Kentucky Lake? Is it too early?
Thanks

I’m not the best bluegill fisherman but we tried for several hours yesterday and only caught a few small, mainly female. Talked to a couple of other friends with the same report. We ended up single pole fishing for crappie to finish the day and ended up with several nice black crappie however.

I think it's still too early. Water temps are going up and down, I haven't seen any temps above 70 yet, on the northern end. 74 is usually when it gets good for me. I'm sure some can be caught, but the bulk of the good fishing is yet to come.
Tried a redear spot last Friday with the warmer water temp- not one bite. So little early but hopefully will see them move up in the next week or two.
Have not fished for them yet. But have seen several beds left from last year and no fish in them yet on north barkley

Awesome redear. Congratulations, even if it was your only one. A true trophy.
